الدرس ده عن إيه؟

A proposal is a formal piece of writing that identifies a problem and recommends a clear course of action. Good proposals combine a persuasive tone with realistic, specific recommendations.

الدرس ده عن الـ Proposal يعني اقتراح رسمي مكتوب. إنت بتشوف مشكلة حواليك (في المدرسة أو الحي)، وبتكتب للمسؤولين حل واضح وواقعي وبتقول ليه الحل ده هينفع.

في الكتاب الدرس ده في Unit 7: Discovering Your Passion (Concept 7: Passion & Purpose)، صفحة Writing a Proposal (صفحة 51-52). المهمة: إنك عضو في student council وبتقترح نادي أو تجمع منتظم حوالين هواية مشتركة (repair club, art club, coding club)، في (150-180) words، ولازم تستخدم used to أو would مرة على الأقل.

موضوعات الوحدة: إزاي الهواية تكبر وتبقى فرصة (زي مريم وكيكها)، إزاي الهواية المشتركة تبني community، إزاي تعلّم غيرك مهارة، وإزاي توازن بين الهواية والمذاكرة.

الفكرة ببساطة: مشكلة ← حل ← ليه الحل ده كويس

Think of a proposal as a short plan: Problem → Recommendation → Reasons → Action. It is formal, clear and realistic.

تخيل إن طلبة كتير في مدرستك بيرموا أي حاجة تبوظ (عجلة، سماعة، شاحن) بدل ما يصلحوها. إنت عندك فكرة: نادي تصليح كل خميس. الـ proposal هو الورقة الرسمية اللي بتقدمها للمدرسة وبتقول فيها:

1. إيه المشكلة؟ (Currently, many students…)
2. إيه الحل اللي بقترحه بالظبط؟ (It is recommended that…)
3. الحل ده هيتنفذ إزاي؟ (This would involve…)
4. ليه هينفع؟ (This would help by… / Evidence suggests that…)
5. عايز منكم إيه دلوقتي؟ (We therefore urge…)

أجزاء الـ Proposal زي ما الكتاب بيعلمها

The book divides the proposal into six sections, each with a purpose and useful phrases.

الكتاب كمان بيدي Proposal Checklist (صفحة 52): المشكلة واضحة، التوصية محددة وواقعية، فيه أسباب أو دليل، وفيه خاتمة أو call to action. هتلاقيها تحت في الـ Checklist.

جمل جاهزة تستخدمها (Useful Phrases)

قاعدة الوحدة جوه الـ Proposal: used to / would

used to + verb = a past habit or state that is no longer true. would + verb = a repeated past action (not a state). They are useful in the Problem section to compare the past with now.

الكتاب بيطلب used to أو would مرة على الأقل. أحسن مكان ليهم هو جزء The Problem: بتقارن زمان بـدلوقتي علشان توضح إن فيه حاجة ضاعت ومحتاجة حل.

• Students used to spend their breaks playing chess, but now most of them stare at their phones.الطلبة كانوا بيقضوا الفسحة يلعبوا شطرنج، ودلوقتي أغلبهم باصين في موبايلاتهم. used to = عادة في الماضي خلصت.
• Families would repair broken radios and bicycles at home.العيلات كانت بتصلح الراديو والعجل في البيت. would = فعل متكرر في الماضي.
• Our school used to have an art room, but it is now a storeroom.مدرستنا كان فيها أوضة رسم، ودلوقتي بقت مخزن. used to مع حالة (have) صح، لكن would مينفعش هنا.
• Many students didn't use to know how to code.النفي: didn't use to (من غير d). خلي بالك من الغلطة دي.

إزاي تكتب الـ Proposal خطوة بخطوة

1. اقرا المهمة وحدد: إنت مين (عضو student council)، بتكتب لمين (إدارة المدرسة)، وإيه الهواية اللي النادي هيتعمل حواليها.
2. اكتب Title قصير: Proposal for a… Club.
3. Introduction: جملة واحدة: The purpose of this proposal is to recommend…
4. The Problem: جملتين أو تلاتة: إيه اللي ناقص دلوقتي؟ هنا حط used to / would علشان تقارن زمان بدلوقتي.
5. The Recommendation: كن محدد: النادي هيتقابل إمتى؟ فين؟ مين هيدير الجلسات؟ محتاجين إيه؟ (It is recommended that… This would involve…)
6. Supporting Reasons: سببين أو تلاتة: يوفّر فلوس؟ يقلل الهدر؟ يبني ثقة؟ يجمع طلبة من سنين مختلفة؟ (This would help by… / Evidence suggests that… / Furthermore…)
7. Conclusion / Call to Action: جملة تلخص الفايدة وجملة تطلب الموافقة (We therefore urge…).
8. راجع: الشكل بعناوين، لغة رسمية من غير اختصارات، used to أو would موجودة، والعدد 150-180 كلمة.

الـ Proposal النموذجي (Model Answer)

ده proposal كامل على مهمة زي مهمة الكتاب. العناوين جزء من الشكل، وعدد الكلمات محسوب على النص كله بالعناوين.

• The purpose of this proposal is to recommend a weekly Repair Club.«الهدف من الاقتراح ده إننا نوصي بنادي تصليح أسبوعي». دي أحسن بداية للـ Introduction.
• Currently, many students replace broken bicycles as soon as they break.«حاليًا طلبة كتير بيغيروا العجل أول ما تبوظ». Currently = حاليًا، بتبدأ بيها المشكلة.
• When our grandparents were young, families would repair almost everything at home.«لما أجدادنا كانوا صغيرين، العيلات كانت بتصلح كل حاجة تقريبًا في البيت». would للعادة المتكررة في الماضي.
• It is recommended that the school open a Repair Club every Thursday.«بنوصي إن المدرسة تفتح نادي تصليح كل خميس». It is recommended that = أسلوب رسمي للاقتراح، وبعدها الفعل في المصدر (open مش opens) أو should open.
• This would involve volunteer teachers and parents with practical skills.«ده هيشمل مدرسين متطوعين وأولياء أمور عندهم مهارات عملية». بيوضح الحل هيتنفذ إزاي.
• Evidence suggests that hands-on projects build patience and confidence.«الأدلة بتقول إن المشاريع العملية بتبني الصبر والثقة». بتقدم سبب بدليل.
• We therefore urge the school to approve a trial term.«علشان كده بنطالب المدرسة توافق على ترم تجريبي». urge = يحث/يطالب بقوة. ده الـ call to action.

إزاي بييجي في الأسئلة؟

الأسئلة في الكتاب والمراجعات بتيجي بالشكل ده: اختيار من متعدد عن مميزات النوع (زي «Which feature is essential…?»)، تكميل بالـ phrase المناسب، أو مهمة كتابة كاملة of (150-180) words.

Checklist قبل ما تسلّم (Proposal Checklist)

الأربع نقط الأولى هي الـ Checklist اللي في الكتاب (صفحة 52)، والباقي من شروط المهمة واللغة.

• I state the problem clearly. (وضحت المشكلة؟)
• I give a specific, realistic recommendation. (التوصية محددة وواقعية؟)
• I support my recommendation with reasons or evidence. (فيه أسباب أو دليل؟)
• I end with a clear conclusion or call to action. (فيه خاتمة أو دعوة للتصرف؟)
• فيه Title وheadings للأجزاء؟
• استخدمت used to أو would مرة على الأقل، وبشكل صح؟
• اللغة رسمية من غير اختصارات ولا I want؟
• عدد الكلمات بين 150 و180؟
