الدرس ده عن إيه؟

A diary entry is a personal piece of writing in which you describe an experience, your thoughts and your feelings. It is written in the first person (I, me, my, we), usually after an important, surprising or emotional experience, and it ends with a reflection on what you learned.

الـ Diary Entry يعني «صفحة في المذكرات اليومية». إنت بتكتب لنفسك عن يوم مهم أو موقف غريب أو مؤثر حصلك: حصل إيه، حسيت بإيه، واتعلمت إيه. القارئ هنا إنت نفسك، فالكتابة صادقة وشخصية.

في الكتاب الدرس ده جه مرتين:

• Unit 2: Leisure Time صفحة 62-63: How to Structure Your Diary Entry (جدول مفصل) + Writing Task + Diary Entry Checklist، والمطلوب (150-180) words بأسلوب «engaging and reflective». وفي صفحة 65 فيه diary entry language checklist: narrative tenses، كلمات الدرس، simile، contrast، صوت شخصي، وreflection.
• Unit 10: Behind the Buy صفحة 150-151: تعريف الـ diary entry + Suggested Structure في 3 فقرات + Writing Task عن «Buy Nothing» swap + Rubric، والمطلوب about (150-180) words.

الدايري بيفيدك في إيه؟

الكتاب في Unit 2 بيقول إن الدايري ليها وظايف: مكان آمن تفضفض فيه (a safe outlet)، وتأمل ووضوح (self-reflection and clarity)، ونمو إبداعي (creative growth). القارئ هو Yourself، والهدف إنك تفهم يومك (to reflect and make sense of the day).

الاتنين نفس الفكرة: جدول Unit 2 هو نسخة مفصلة من الـ 3 فقرات بتوع Unit 10. استخدم اللي يناسب السؤال: لو السؤال عن تجربة فيها تحدي امشي على جدول Unit 2، ولو عن موقف بسيط (زي إنك اتبرعت بحاجة) امشي على الـ 3 فقرات.

اللغة اللي الكتاب عايزها

Use narrative tenses (past simple, past continuous, past perfect), the first person, feelings words, a simile, a contrast, and end with a reflection. In Unit 10, also use stative verbs correctly and quantifiers.

• I had never thought that a desert walk could be fun.past perfect: قبل التجربة.
• While my cousins were taking photos, I was trying to breathe.past continuous: المشهد في لحظة الـ turning point (زي ما الكتاب طالب).
• Suddenly, I saw the top of the hill.past simple: حدث جديد.
• The valley looked like a golden carpet.simile بـ like.
• I felt as light as a feather after I donated the bag.simile بـ as … as.
• At first I was nervous, but by the end I felt confident.contrast بين البداية والنهاية.
• I own too many T-shirts that I never wear.U10: own = stative verb + too many (quantifier).

عبارات مفيدة

إزاي تكتب خطوة بخطوة

1. اقرا المهمة وحدد النقط المطلوبة (مثلًا في Unit 10: the item – why special – why donate – feelings – lesson). كل نقطة لازم تظهر.
2. اكتب خطة من 5 كلمات: بداية حلوة ← مشكلة ← لحظة صعبة ← نهاية ← درس.
3. ابدأ بالتاريخ في سطر، وبعده Dear Diary, في سطر لوحده.
4. Opening: فين كنت ولسه عامل إيه (I have just… / I had planned to…).
5. الأحداث بالترتيب بـ past simple، وفي اللحظة الصعبة استخدم past continuous للخلفية.
6. حط simile واحد وcontrast واحد على الأقل (زي ما الـ checklist بتطلب).
7. المشاعر: قول حسيت بإيه في كل مرحلة، مش في الآخر بس.
8. Reflection + final line: اتعلمت إيه، وجملة أخيرة تفضل في الدماغ.
9. راجع: ضمير I؟ ترتيب واضح؟ الأزمنة صح؟ 150-180 كلمة؟

إزاي بييجي في الأسئلة؟

الأسئلة في الكتاب بتيجي بالشكلين دول:

1) دايري من وجهة نظر شخصية في قصة قريتها (Unit 2): «You are the narrator of the extract. Write a diary entry from Saturday evening. Describe what happened, how you felt, and what you have learned about leisure and happiness.»

هنا لازم تلتزم بأحداث القصة (رحلة العجل جنب النيل: بداية هادية، الشمس والتعب، كان عايز يطلب تاكسي، كمّل، والإحساس بالإنجاز في الآخر) بس بكلامك إنت وبصوت «أنا». ماتنسخش جمل القصة.

2) دايري عن موقف متخيل (Unit 10): «Imagine that you donated an item that was special to you at a 'Buy Nothing' community swap…». هنا الـ 4 نقط المطلوبة هي الخطة بتاعتك.

مثال بداية لكل نقطة في مهمة Unit 10:

• The item: It was the blue football shirt that my grandfather had given me when I was ten.حاجة مميزة + past perfect.
• Why special: I wore it to every match, and it still smelt of the club where we used to play.ليه مميزة.
• Why donate: It had been in my wardrobe for years, and I realised that I own too many clothes.السبب + quantifier.
• Feelings: When I saw a little boy wearing it in the park, my heart felt as warm as tea on a winter night.مشاعر + simile.
• Lesson: I have learned that things matter more when someone uses them.reflection.

• كتبت التاريخ في الأول.
• بدأت بتحية مناسبة: Dear Diary,
• وصفت تجربة شخصية واضحة بضمير I.
