Before you start

This is a complete Reading and Writing section in the format of the Digital SAT: two modules of 27 questions, 32 minutes each (54 questions, 64 minutes). Every question has one short passage (or a pair of short passages) and four choices. Inside each module the questions come in the usual order: Craft and Structure, then Information and Ideas, then Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas last. All passages and questions were written for this course.

  1. Sit in a quiet place with no phone and about 70 minutes free. Do the whole test in one sitting.
  2. The timer starts when you begin a module. Aim for about 1 minute 11 seconds per question, and do not spend more than 2 minutes on any single question.
  3. Inside a module you can move back and forth between questions. When the 32 minutes end, the module closes. In the real test, you cannot go back to Module 1 once Module 2 starts, so treat this test the same way.
  4. There is no penalty for wrong answers. Never leave a question blank: if time is short, eliminate what you can and guess.
  5. At the end you will see your number correct, your result for each module and each skill, and an explanation for every question.
About your result

The score shown at the end is a practice percentage (the number of questions you answered correctly). It is not an official SAT score. Official Reading and Writing scores are reported on a scale of 200–800, and this page does not convert your result to that scale.

اقعد في مكان هادي من غير موبايل، وخلّي معاك حوالي ساعة وربع. الامتحان موديولين، كل واحد 27 سؤال في 32 دقيقة، يعني تقريبًا دقيقة وعشر ثواني للسؤال. جوه الموديول تقدر ترجع لأي سؤال، لكن لما الوقت يخلص الموديول بيقفل، وفي الامتحان الحقيقي مفيش رجوع لـ Module 1. مفيش خصم على الإجابة الغلط، فمتسيبش ولا سؤال فاضي. والنسبة اللي هتظهر في الآخر للتدريب بس، مش درجة SAT رسمية.

After the test
  • Read the explanation for EVERY question, including the ones you got right: check that you chose the answer for the right reason and not by luck.
  • For each mistake, write three things in your notebook: the skill tag, the trap that caught you (too broad, reversed, half-right, comma splice, and so on), and the rule or step you will use next time.
  • Look at your results by skill and list your two or three weakest skills.
