Checkpoint 6 Maths — Practice Test 1
A full timed Checkpoint-style Maths test — Paper 1 without a calculator and Paper 2 with one, 45 minutes and 40 marks each — set in a school library, a juice stall, a zoo trip, a garden plan, sports day and a weather chart, with automatic marking, a mark scheme and full worked solutions.

Before you start
- This is a full practice test in the style of the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Mathematics (0096) test, which is taken at the end of Stage 6. It covers the whole Stage 6 curriculum: number, geometry and measure, and statistics and probability.
- There are two papers. Each paper lasts 45 minutes and is worth 40 marks (80 marks in total). The timer starts when you press Start.
- Paper 1: no calculator. All the numbers are chosen so that you can work them out on paper. Paper 2: you may use a calculator. Paper 2 has more real-life, multi-step problems.
- Equipment: a black or dark blue pen, an HB pencil for drawings, a ruler, compasses and a protractor (tracing paper is optional). Keep some squared paper ready to sketch shapes and grids.
- You can write on paper first if you like: download the question paper (PDF), do the test the real way, then type in your answers or mark your paper with the mark scheme (PDF).
- How marking works here: typed answers (numbers, short answers and multiple choice) are checked automatically. Written answers (explanations, drawings, sketches) you mark yourself at the end: compare your answer with the mark scheme and give yourself only the marks you have really earned.
- [2] marks means "show your working": in the real test a correct method can still earn 1 mark even if the final answer is wrong. Give units (cm², °C, minutes) where they are asked for.
- Your score is a practice score to show you what to revise. It is not an official Cambridge result.
- Check every wrong answer. Read the worked solution, then cover it and do the question again on paper until you can do it without help.
- Mark your written answers strictly. Give yourself a mark only when your answer matches the mark scheme. For [2] questions, check whether your method would have earned the method mark (M1).
- Sort your mistakes: a fact you did not know, a calculation slip, a misread question, a missing unit, or a graph or table read wrongly? Slips and misreading are the quickest marks to win back.
- Number lessons to revisit: place value and regrouping → *Place Value and Decimals to Thousandths*; sequences and rules → *Counting On and Back and Negative Numbers* and *Sequences, Letters and Position-to-Term Rules*; long multiplication and division → *Multiplying Whole Numbers (up to 10 000 × 2-digit)* and *Dividing Whole Numbers (up to 1000 ÷ 2-digit)*; order of operations → *Order of Operations, Brackets and Laws of Arithmetic*; multiples, factors and divisibility → *Factors, Multiples and Tests of Divisibility*; cube numbers → *Square Numbers and Cube Numbers*; rounding → *Rounding Decimals*.
- Fractions, decimals and ratio: *Fractions: Division, Operators and Simplest Form*, *Adding and Subtracting Fractions*, *Multiplying and Dividing Fractions by Whole Numbers*, *Fractions, Decimals and Percentages: Equivalence and Ordering*, *Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying and Dividing Decimals*, *Ratio and Direct Proportion*, and *Time: Decimals and Mixed Units*.
- Geometry: *Angles: Measuring, Drawing and Angles in a Triangle*, *Quadrilaterals: Properties and Classification*, *Circles: Parts and Constructing Circles*, *Area of Rectangles and Right-angled Triangles*, *3D Shapes, Compound Shapes and Nets*, *Capacity, Volume and Surface Area*, *Coordinates in Four Quadrants*, *Rotational Symmetry, Translation, Reflection and Rotation*.
- Statistics and probability: *Collecting and Representing Data*, *Mode, Median, Mean and Range, and Interpreting Data*, *Probability*. For explaining and convincing questions, reread *Checkpoint 6 Maths: The Test and How to Prepare*.
- When you are ready, try Practice Test 2 under timed conditions and compare your scores.
